My platform for Prince Edward County

 My platform is built on community well-being, sustainable growth, and responsible leadership.  As Mayor, I will help council achieve balance between community, new development and tourism.

Addressing key challenges and planning for the future

  • Daycare facilities: We will tackle the serious lack of daycare facilities to support our families and workforce.

  • Health Care: I want to recruit doctors through out of the box thinking to compete with other municipalities.

  • Fiscal responsibility: I am committed to controlling spending and conducting a thorough review of county operations from the inside out to ensure efficiency and accountability.

  • Youth retention: Pursue year-round employment opportunities to retain our youth and strengthen our local economy.

  • Accommodation stability: I will maintain the moratorium on Airbnb's and short-term accommodations to protect our housing market and ensure community well-being.

  • Roads and Infrastructure: Create a multi year plan for road work and upkeep.  

  • Review Bylaws: Review existing bylaws that hinder the enjoyment of one's own property through unnecessary restrictions.

My commitment to Prince Edward County voters is to implement a moratorium on development. This will allow us to take a community-first approach to approving new developments, ensuring they genuinely benefit our residents and preserve the unique character of our county. We need to prioritize the needs of our existing community over unchecked expansion. I will also support affordable housing initiatives and developments.

What sets my platform apart is my extensive experience on Prince Edward County Council. I am not afraid to find the proper balance between our communities' needs, the demands of tourism, and necessary development. I will lead council to look inside the corporation to make the best decisions for the county as a whole.
